Roggen
Ghost town in Weld County, Colorado · Eastern Plains district
History
An unincorporated community whose name likely derives from Edward P. Roggin, a Nebraska legislator. Post office has operated since 1883. Once a railroad stop and grain shipping point along the Union Pacific line, the town served surrounding homesteaders and ranchers. Like many eastern plains communities, mechanized agriculture and rural depopulation have reduced it to a shadow of its former self.
