History
Named for a local rancher who owned the land. Post office operated from 1900 to 1967. Had a store, beet dump, pool hall, and school by 1920. Located on a rail line from LaSalle to Julesburg built by the Colorado Central Railroad. Union Pacific abandoned the rail line in the 1990s.
