History
A copper mining camp centered on the Rambler Mine, one of the richest copper deposits in the Sierra Madre. The mine operated a 16-mile aerial tramway to transport ore down to the smelter at Encampment. When copper prices crashed and the mining company went bankrupt, the town emptied rapidly.
