History

A significant copper and gold mining camp in the Sierra Madre that served as a hub for the upper mining district. Had a hotel, assay office, and several commercial buildings at its peak. The remote, high-altitude location made it impractical once the mining bust came.

What remains: Cabin ruins, mine structures, foundations, and remains of aerial tramway towers. One of the most scenic ghost town sites in the Sierra Madre.
