History

A Denver, South Park & Pacific Railroad stop -- not a mining town. On March 10, 1884, a devastating avalanche buried 18 people, killing 13 including six children of Marcella Doyle who ran a boarding house. It was the highest avalanche death toll in Colorado history at the time. The town was never rebuilt.
