History

Named for Union Pacific president Sidney Dillon. The Denver, South Park & Pacific Railroad arrived 1882. In 1956, Denver Water began reservoir construction, and by 1963 the original town was submerged. The current town of Dillon was relocated one mile north and 160 feet higher.
